About Mixed-Age Groups
Activites on the farm are appropriate and perfect for mixed-age groups.
Older kids are often natural mentors. Playing and working with a younger child at their side creates a dynamic that speaks to their abilities, builds confidence, and allows them to play in an environment with no judgment. Younger children learn from older children in ways that can't really be duplicated by adults.
If a child preferes to be more independent, this is also a class that will meet those needs.
While we encourage working together, there are no requirements to do so. Children can make connections at their own pace.
Animal care and farm chores are a part of each day at Farm School. We focus on looking at the world from an agricultural perspective with compassion and thought for our animals. Students get the opportunity to build confidence, develop skills and learn concepts by accomplishing real-world tasks that have real results.
